We are a small to medium sized, but fast growing, company based in Halifax town centre, specializing in large scale fitted furniture contracts. Current annual turnover is over £20m and expected to grow by approx 20% pa over the next 3-5 years. We have just had an opportunity come up within our small accounts team, due to one of them relocating, and we have decided to replace them by creating an opening for a recent school leaver, with decent A level grades (min BCC) to come in on an Accountancy Apprenticeship. Initially we will support them towards the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification and thereafter there may be scope for further support towards gaining a professional Accountancy body qualification (eg ICAEW, CIMA) within 6 years (maybe sooner).
As such we believe this represents a fantastic opportunity for someone who has chosen not to go to University and is interested in a pursuing a career in Accountancy. The progression for the right person is expected to be rapid so the A level requirement is important to us to signify the sort of calibre of candidate we are looking for.
