We are searching for potentially a couple of people to join our growing company. We have two positions currently available which are ‘Trainee’ based positions in which we provide in-house training.

Drawing Office Trainee

This is an exciting opportunity to really get involved in the steel industry learning from within.

Exciting career opportunity.

Training provided from start to finish (In-House).

Qualifications Required: Minimum 5 GCSE’s at grade C (4 equal to or greater), including English language and Mathematics.

Job Type: Full Time.

Possibility of a college course based on willingness to learn / progress.

Salary- Minimum wage to start (In Training), based on a 37.5 hour week, start time 8.45a.m. , lunch 12.30p.m. until 1.15p.m. finish time 5.00p.m. Flexi time available after two weeks.

Dress code: Smart.

Holiday Entitlements: 33 days in total which consists usually 13 days which are fixed (bank holidays), leaving 20 flexible days, these will be pro rata dependant on start date as holidays run from Jan-Dec.

Responsibilities\duties: The first year will be spent supporting the technical administration dept, filing, printing, photocopying. Working with the companies own computer network, filing data and producing forms for distribution to other departments, sending and receiving e-mail. Using client based Intranet sites; retrieving information and uploading own drawings and documents. Other duties seen fit by Elland Steel Structures Ltd within general guidelines for an administration role.

On completion of your administration training, your responsibilities will be to prepare Tekla detailing packages, prepare general arrangement drawings, 3D modelling in a BIM environment, project coordination with customers and other tasks seen fit by ESS Ltd within the general guidelines established for a role as a Structural draughtsperson.

Estimating Trainee

This is an exciting opportunity to really get involved in the steel industry learning from within.

Responsibilities\duties:

The first few years will be doing administration tasks, learning from within & understanding company software/Processes.

– Receiving and packaging tender drawings & documents from clients.

– Sending out packages to be priced by sub – trades.

– Keeping up-to date KPI records.

– General filing within estimating department.

– Shadowing fully qualified Steel estimators & learning how it all works.

View to becoming an estimator once training complete & experienced in the role.

Training provided from start to finish.
