Journalism opportunities 2020 – free journalism masterclass for sixth form students on Tuesday, February 18 (12pm-4pm)

Just two quick updates this New Year!

  • We are holding another free journalism masterclass for sixth form students this February half-term.
  • There is still time to apply for our NCTJ-accredited BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism degree The School of Journalism to start in September 2020.

Free journalism masterclass

We are once again opening our Manchester newsroom to sixth form students on Tuesday, February 18 (12pm-4pm).

Students will get the chance to talk to our award-winning journalists and training team – and more importantly, trainees currently studying on our Multimedia Journalism degree!

They’ll also have a go at a couple of news writing exercises, and everyone gets feedback.

I have attached a flyer for you.

If any of your students would like to come along, please can you get them to fill out the very short form below and email it to:

I would like to attend the free journalism masterclass in Manchester on Tuesday February 18 (12pm-4pm).

Year in school/college:

NCTJ-accredited BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism degree

Apply now

If any of your students are interested in journalism and the media, we can’t stress enough the importance of studying on an NCTJ-accredited degree. (Just have a look at this: NCTJ stands for the National Council for the Training of Journalists and it is the industry-recognised qualification.

At The School of Journalism, in London or Manchester, trainees are taught by journalists in newsrooms and they leave with the essential NCTJ qualification and an unrivalled qualification as well as a BA.

I have attached some testimonials from some of our current first year trainees – including Lauran who started at Nottingham but didn’t like it so transferred to us after just a few days.

To apply via UCAS, here are the codes you need:
