Leeds Economics Degree Apprenticeship Information Event
Location: Quarry House, Quarry Hill, Leeds, LS2 7UA
Date and Time: 1pm-4pm, Thursday 29th November
The UK Civil Service has launched the UK’s first degree-level apprenticeship in Economics this year– creating new routes to careers in the Civil Service for young people who would prefer to study for a degree whilst working at the heart of government.
To promote this new Economics Apprenticeship, we are running an Open Event in Leeds on the 29thNovember 2018 to give students an insight into the world of economics in the Civil Service. We will discuss with students what it means to be an economist and hope that by the end of the session, students will feel inspired to pursue a career in economics and leave with a greater understanding of how economics impacts our lives.
Students will get the opportunity to hear about the new degree level economics apprenticeship, which has now been signed off for September 2019. Students will be able to ask questions, and hear about an alternative route into the economics profession and government.
The open day will consist of a range of activities. We will have talks and presentations from senior economists, and students will have the chance to ask questions to professional economists, we will also have an interactive game that will get students warmed up to the way economists think.
We would like to invite students from across the region to the event to find out more.
If you would like to attend this event, please get in touch with SCHOOL.OUTREACHPROGRAMME@DWP.GSI.GOV.UK letting us know how many places you would like to reserve.
