University of Leeds Open Day – Saturday 5th October 2019
Explore campus, talk to staff and students and find out about the Arts and Humanities subjects at our autumn open day. Join us for the day to start thinking beyond.

KS4&5 Schools Question Time – Leeds Minster – 8th November 2019
Suitable for students across all subjects, this event will get them involved in debating the big social, philosophical, religious and political issues of the day. Students submit questions to a diverse panel of guests in the style of the popular BBC show at an event which promotes their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
This year’s panel includes Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP, Cllr Salma Arif and Rev. Heston Groenewald.

Artists and Storytelling – New in-school workshop for KS4&5

A thought-provoking, hands-on experience for your students, this workshop explores the role of artists in today’s society and the importance of being politically aware within our practices.
Delivered by our post-graduate students in your school, we can be flexible with dates and times to suit your timetable.
Hepworth Creative Careers – 21st November 2019
21st November for Year 8 students
A collaborative event with the Hepworth Wakefield, delivered at the extraordinary gallery. The day includes practical workshops and the chance to learn about the range of careers in the arts sector.

Media Teacher Network Meeting – 27th November 2019 – 16:00-18:15
Film & Media teachers are invited to attend a seminar delivered by Professor Helen Wood of Lancaster University, followed by a network meeting where the details of our KS5 Outreach event will be launched. Teachers have the opportunity to network with media teachers and academic staff at the University.

Year 4 – Year 13 Classics Competition and Workshops – 19th March 2020 – 17:00-19:30
An exciting opportunity to join us on campus for a celebration of Classics and performance! Students will either prepare a Latin/Greek reading of a given text (Reading categories) or devise a short performance in English on a given topic (Drama categories) and compete with students from all across the country.

Discover ARTiculation Challenge – Submissions now open!
An annual competition dedicated to engaging Key Stage 4 students with art and to develop their confidence, Discover ARTiculation submissions are now open! Students submit a 2-3 minute film of themselves speaking about a work of art, and our judges choose which entrants compete on campus in our grand final.

Exploring the Slap – Free Online Course for Drama Teachers and KS5 Students
A course which introduces learners to the world-renowned Russian director Meyerhold’s technique of biomechanics. This free, two week, online course opens for enrolment on 30th September 2019 on Future Learn.
