Academic Webinars: 

Our academic webinars provide a fantastic opportunity to help you think about what you might want to study at university and potentially assist you when writing your personal statement for your UCAS application. Please visit our webinars webpage for a full list, covering a diverse range of topics. 

  • 8 December: Personalised Medicine and the Human Genome (17:00 – 18:00 PM):  This is an exciting time for the world of genetics, with researchers in this field being awarded a much coveted 2020 Nobel Prize! A new era in personalised medicines is with us: how can we exploit differences in our genomes to improve human health?  Professor Sherif El-Khamisy will provide a world leading insight into this fast-moving research field, as well as look at studying on our MPharmacy programme.  You can Register HERE
  • 9 December: Occupational Therapy and Life Transitions (16:30 – 17:30 PM):  Life transitions, such as retirement, becoming a new parent, or going into a care home, all encompass a change in roles and activities. Occupational Therapy, with its focus on enabling people to do what they need and want to do, can assist with such life transitions, providing education and skills to enable the person to successfully navigate the  physical and emotional challenges associated with the changes in their daily lives.   • 10 December: Far-right ideologies, nationalism and a Pandemic (17:30 – 18:30 PM): This webinar will examine the responses to the Covid-19 pandemic of Presidents Trump in the USA, Bolsonaro in Brazil, and Orban in Hungary. All three are far-right nationalist leaders, but what are the similarities or differences in their approach to the pandemic. In this comparative perspective, we will look at factors such as religiosity, science denial, and structures of government. You can Register HERE

10 December: Personal Branding (4-5 PM) – This session focuses on identifying your key skills and evidencing them in cover letters, CVs and personal statements. We’ll also consider the ways you can further develop new and existing skills to enhance your application. You can Register HERE·       

10 December: What next for adult learners (7:30-8:30 PM) – This session gives you the chance to chat to some of our current students and alumni. We’ll give you advice on how to succeed on your Access course, as well as how to navigate the next few months – with some great tips from students who’ve been in the same position as you. We’ll also advise on what to do if you change your mind about which course you want to study. Our expert Adult Learner team will be on-hand to offer support on the next stage of your journey, and how to ensure you have all the help you need to start university.  You can Register HERE  

Launch of new Resource for Students:The University of Bradford’s new “Virtual Open Day Anytime” was launched on Friday 4th December.  It will not replace the Virtual Open Day Live events but will act as a pool of information in between Open Days.  Student can access the resource on our Open Days website page HERE You can find News on help and advice about applying to University in 2021 HERE

University of Bradford Holiday Closures:

 The university will be closed from 19th December – 3rd January 2021, inclusive, so that the majority of our staff are able to take a well-deserved break.  However, there will be a manned service available for the 3 days commencing 21st December and the 3 days commencing 28th December (10am-4pm), offering a first line response to enquirers and applicants, to enable them to receive a reply to enquiries over the holiday period, in regard to Admissions, UKVI Compliance and International Student Support and Student and Administrative Services.  Contacts: T: 01274 233081 or E: enquiries@bradford.ac.uk or admissions@bradford.ac.uk
