Welcome to our Careers site at Brighouse High School

A message from our Careers Adviser dated 19th March 2020

 Hi Everyone

The school is closed from 20th March 2020, but I’m still working and available to contact.  No matter what year group your son/daughter is in, there is something he/she can be thinking about in terms of their future:

Sixth Form

I can support Year 13, Year 12 and Bridging Group students with any careers advice and guidance.  Under normal circumstances, students would be self-referring to see me in our appointments system but they can still email/text/call me and I will try to contact all students to confirm what they had planned.

Year 11

A main focus for me is the transition of your son/daughter from Brighouse High School to their preferred choice of either sixth form, college or Apprenticeship.  I will try to call, text or email all Year 11 students to ensure they have an offer of a sixth form/college place and if they are seeking an Apprenticeship I can help them search and apply for vacancies.  I have links with the colleges and I will receive updates on their processes for recruitment, if interviews need rearranging, for example, I will be able to help.

Year 10

My intention is to email all the Year 10 students to discuss how they can plan for the decisions that they have to make in Year 11.

Years 7, 8  & 9

Students can spend some time thinking about what they are good at and what they enjoy, and then how that can link to Jobs and Careers.  I’ve listed some websites and career tools for them to look at.

My contact details are:  lindsy.walker@ckcareers.org.uk and 07708 015522.

Please get in contact if you need to.

Kind regards
