Mini MBA Programme 4 November – 9 December (13:30 – 14:30)

The University of Bradford invites Year 13 students to participate in our Mini MBA programme beginning on 4 November. The Mini MBA has been designed by our Triple Crown Accredited School of Management and is a unique opportunity for students to gain an insight into the innovative developments taking place in business. The Academic Lead is Dr Kamran Mahroof.

The programme begins on Wednesday 4 November (13:30-14:30) and will continue with 1 session/week for the following 5 weeks, with the final session on December 9. Each session will cover a different aspect of business and will include unique academic insights into areas such as Business Analytics, Responsible Management and Digital Marketing.

Future Change Makers 19 November – 10 December (17:30 – 18:30)

Our Future Change Makers webinar series, designed and delivered by our Peace Studies and International Development Academics, is launching on Thursday 19 November. These weekly lectures will expose A-level and BTEC students to a wide range of subjects that are both topical and related to their syllabus – the Covid 19 pandemic, the global food crisis, far-right ideologies, nationalism, and the comparative study of revolutions. The programme offers an insight into university style teaching and will conclude on 10 December.

The programme is tailored to be accessible to a wide audience with no subject specific requirements. All participants who complete the full programme will receive 8 points towards their UCAS tariff for future study at the University of Bradford as an undergraduate Peace Studies student.

Future Psychologists 18 November – 9 December (16:30 – 17:30)

Our Future Psychologists Virtual programme has been designed, and will be delivered, by leading academics in our School of Social Sciences and launches on Wednesday 18th November. The Schools research expertise includes the application of psychology to understanding health and well-being; cognition and brain research including neuropsychology, perception, and developmental psychology; and the connections between identity, social constructivism and narrative.

Each session of the programme will investigate one of the four key strands of psychology – Cognitive; Developmental; Forensic; and Counselling.

The programme is tailored to be accessible to a wide audience with no subject specific requirements. All participants who complete the full programme will receive 8 points towards their UCAS tariff for future study at the University of Bradford as an undergraduate Psychology student.

Creating Future Lawyers 18 November – 16 December (13:30 – 14:30)

Our Creating Future Lawyers Virtual programme has been designed, and will be delivered, by leading academics in the School of Law and will begin on Wednesday November 18th. The 1st session will be an extended session of 1.5 hours (1:30 – 3pm). The programmes aim is to engage, inspire and inform students about Law, the developments and changes taking place in this fast-paced world, and give you an insight into further studies. 

Sessions will explore such subjects as: Why the Law needs you; A deep dive into Corona virus regulations; What is an Advocate?; Technology and the Law; and, Contracts, Carbolic Smokeballs and Covid.

The programme is tailored to be accessible to a wide audience with no subject specific requirements. The programme intends to use developments in the wake of the Corona Virus Pandemic to make the sessions familiar and accessible to students. All participants who complete the full programme will receive 8 points towards their UCAS tariff for future study at the University of Bradford as an undergraduate Law student.

Our academic webinars provide a fantastic opportunity to help you think about what you might want to study at university and potentially assist you when writing your personal statement for your UCAS application. Please visit our webinars webpage for a full list, covering a diverse range of topics. 

  • 18 November: Public Health Challenges (3:30-4:30 pm): Public Health is something that affects each of us. In this webinar, University academics and students discuss current challenges that we face and what it is really like to work in this area.  You can register HERE
  • 25 November: Do animals have theory of mind? (3:30-4:30 pm): This webinar discusses the theory of mind and whether animals have highly evolved social systems, their own languages, the ability to use abstract concepts and function at higher levels than originally thought. You can register HERE

13 November: Hang out virtually with international students from the Faculty of Life Sciences (4-5 PM): Have you done lots of online research about us but are still not sure? Meet up with someone who has been studying the course you are interested in. Grab yourself a cup of tea to join us in this webinar and hear real stories from our current international students and alumni: what brought them to Bradford? What achievements they have attained for their study and career? Compare what you see online about Bradford Faculty of Life Sciences with what our students have personally experienced.  Some courses in Pharmacy and Medical Sciences, Chemistry and Biosciences, Optometry and Vision Sciences require an interview, so this is a great chance for you to get some insight into how to succeed. 17 November: Picking the right university and course and using open days to support this (4-5 PM): We know there are lots of degrees to choose from and plenty of places to study, which can make choosing the right university and course difficult for students and their families. This session will give you some great tips on how to make the right choices and get the most out of Open Days.  You can Register HERE·       

17 November: Interview skills for health and social work for adult learners (7:30-8:30 PM): This session is for adult learners who’ve applied to a course that requires an interview – particularly health-related areas and social work. We’ll cover how to prepare and present yourself, and there’ll be a chance to hear from a current student about their own interview – gaining helpful advice from someone who’s just been through the process.  You can Register HERE·
