• 27 January: Biomaterials and their Applications (16:45-17:45 PM) – Patients worldwide benefit from implants and diagnostic devices.  Biomaterial and device applications, versatility and performance represent a University of Bradford success story. This webinar will explore the design and preparation of hydrogels for tissue regeneration, antimicrobial medical devices and devices that detect pathogens in infective diseases.  You can Register HERE.

• 21 January: What next after submitting your UCAS Application (4:30-5:30 PM and 7:30-8:30 PM) – This session gives information on what to do after submitting your UCAS application.  The session will look at key dates coming up, what you will need to do and how to use UCAS Track to keep up to date with the application process.

• 28 January: Attending Post Offer Visit Days and Selecting your Firm and Insurance Choice (4:30-5:30 PM and 7:30-8:30 PM) – We know that there are lots of degrees to choose from, and lots of choice of where you can go to study them, which can make narrowing down your options to two, a firm and insurance choice, difficult for students and their families.  This session will give you some great top tips about how to make the right choices and get the most out of Visit Days.

*** UCAS Deadline 29^th January *** ·       Application and personal statement drop in (see times below) – The Outreach and Recruitment team are running virtual drop in sessions to support any students who are currently in the middle of or planning to apply to university starting 2021.  Outreach and Recruitment officers will be on hand to provide information around the application process, including personal statements and answer any questions.  These are informal sessions, so feel free to drop in anytime during the hour.  The Zoom link to join follows, along with the dates and times – this is a recurring meeting so you can join at either of the times on the same link:

• 28 January: Lessons through reflection, a nurses perspective on working in COVID 19 (6:30-8:00 PM).  Synopsis:  How does a hospital A&E department adapt to a pandemic?  Danni Woods Adult Nurse Lecturer at the University of Bradford and Sister Lucy Lowe will examine how the events leading up to the national lockdown were translated into routine nursing practice in an inner city hospital.  Please note that this is an online event using Zoom, places must be booked here.

  Virtual Open Day: Live Our next Undergraduate Virtual Open Day Live will be held on Saturday 6^th February 10am to 4pm.  This event will offer attendees the opportunity to get involved in live Q&As with lecturers and students on a wide range of subject areas and support services.  Students can register for the Virtual Open Day: Live HERE. This event is also another opportunity for eligible students to gain up to 8 UCAS points to use against their offer with us as part of the Progression Scheme – more details on this Scheme can be found .  “Anytime” Resources for Students: The University of Bradford’s new “Bradford Experience” was launched last month.  This service offers a range of resources to students who are researching Universities or firming up their choices.  Students who sign up will have access to our Virtual Open Day Anytime (including informative subject talks and support information), Virtual Tours, Webinars and invites to Live Virtual Open Days and Campus Tours (when they can begin again).  Students can access the resource on our Open Days website page

Virtual Open Mornings at the National Horseracing College

Enjoy a behind the scenes tour of the National Horseracing College to see our facilities and a typical morning routine for Foundation Course learners, as well as meet the team, horses, and current learners to find out what life is like at NHC! There will be time to ask questions throughout the tour too.

Although we would prefer to meet you face-to-face, the virtual events are a great opportunity to experience the National Horseracing College and the training on offer from the comfort of your students own home, or while in school.

The Foundation Course is our most popular, yet we have other pathways such as our Doncaster Equine College (non-residential), and our 14-16 year old programme that allows students to start working towards their Diploma while in education.

Here’s a few things you may not know about the popular 12-week Residential Foundation Course:

• Courses start every 6-weeks
• The course is open for anyone aged 16 or over (we have a 14-16 year old programme if they wish to start at an earlier age)
• There are no academic qualifications or previous equestrian experience required
• The cost of the course is £350 (accommodation and subsistence included), and bursaries are available upon request
• Riding and non-riding option available
• Learners can be in full-time employment in just 18-weeks
• Many careers opportunities are available in the horseracing industry
• The horseracing is the only discipline within the equestrian industry with regulated pay

We have an exciting National event happening on 3^rd Feb, 1800-2100. RAF Learn Live is a free event open to all schools and colleges. It is an interactive live session hosted by RAF personnel. We have over 55 different roles available, with a range of opportunities for all levels of academic qualifications. Students will get the opportunity to listen to RAF personnel talk about lived experiences and ask questions.
